Post-Production Questionnaire Evaluation

In my questionnaire I was able to discover what my target audience liked and disliked about my magazine. From the bar chart graph I can conclude that the images used are of a high standard and that my magazine is not gender biased. As my magazine is not gender biased, this can widen my audience and also entice a female audience in a male-dominated field. The most negatively answered question was 'Can you relate to the article' as five people said no. This is understandable as not everyone can relate to one thing in particular, however the majority of participants stated they could relate. This means there is only a minority of people who cannot relate. The majority of participants agreed that they liked the appearance and that it fits with the genre of the content. By looking at this graph, I can see that my magazine is a success and that all the participants would recommend the magazine to a friend.

Post-Production Magazine Questionnaire

This is the questionnaire in which I have have handed out to 30 participants. I have included eight closed questions for the participants to fill in order for me to get an idea of what the general population think of my final product. The age range of the participants is similar to my target audience.

Contents Page Audience Response

Courtney Cairns: I think the layout of the contents page is really good and allows the reader to look at different photographs of their favourite bands or artists. It looks like a rock-genre magazine and will really appeal to the target audience. The page shows lots of different articles and band names which again will draw in the target audience because of all the good features of the magazine.

Contents Page Evaluation

My Final Contents Page:

I am very happy with how my contents page turned out in the end. It matches with the genre of my magazine and also the colour scheme matches the front page cover. The deep purple colour matches with  the rock genre, as well as it being a unisex colour. I have two columns of writing on either side of the page, both with details of what's inside the magazine. I have also included a bad index to inform the reader of what bands are included, as well as a plethora of images of artists featured. In my main image used, the model is wearing dark clothing which allows her to match with the magazine theme and has connotations of rock/mystery. The title is written in large letters to inform the audience what this page is. I placed a large purple banner across the top of the page in order to highlight the magazine's name, issue and page title. The font is written in both black and white writing which again matches with the overall theme. My contents page has a variety of typical conventions such as the images, layout of page titles and the overall layout of the page. I feel that my contents page is of a high standard and the photographs used are excellent quality. The overall appearance of the page is professional and I am very pleased with the final product.

Double Page Feature Audience Response

Carl Campbell: The page looks really professional and well laid out. I like how one half of the page is a photograph and the other half is the article. The colour scheme goes well with the genre of the magazine and I think the target audience would really enjoy it too. The model fits with the genre as well and the article can be relate-able to a lot of the target audience, especially young teenagers.

Double Page Feature Evaluation

My Final Double Page Feature:

I am very happy with how my double page feature turned out. I feel it matches with the genre of my magazine and also the colour scheme matches the overall magazine theme. The deep red/burgundy colour looks very 'rock' which gives the audience a hint to what type of article this is. On one half of the page, I have placed an image of the model sitting on a wall in addition to the autumnal background. This adds a grungy/edgy look to the page. The model is wearing dark clothing which allows her to match with the magazine theme and has connotations of rock/mystery. The title is written in large, bold letters to inform the audience what the article is about. I placed a black box underneath this in order to highlight the white writing. The article is written in columns which is a typical convention of a magazine. The article is written in both black and red writing which again matches with the overall theme. I have also added a large quote towards the bottom of the photograph to give the audience a sneak peak of what is in the article. I feel that my double page feature is of a very high standard and the photograph is excellent quality. The overall appearance of the page is professional and I am very pleased with the final product.

Front Cover Audience Response

Dinko Borov: I think the colours match really well and the whole page looks really professional and real. The fonts look good together and the photograph matches with the genre of the magazine. It has a lot of typical conventions like social media links, and the title draws in the targeted audience.

Front Cover Evaluation

My Final Front Cover:

I am extremely pleased with how well my front cover turned out. I feel that my front cover matches the genre I selected for my magazine and the colour scheme works really well. The deep purple colours are very rock/edgy and match with the black and white. The white stands out against the background which allows certain sections to stand out more than others. I have used a limited amount of fonts in order to make the overall page look professional. I have added in typical conventions such as a website URL, barcode and a price. The title is placed a the top corner and draws in the attention of the audience. The overall aesthetic is professional which draws in readers and makes the magazine look appealing. The photograph used is of a high quality and fits in with the theme and genre of the magazine. The model wears an all black outfit with elements of white which matches the colour scheme and gives off an edgy look. I feel that this page is very professional and of a high standard. I am very pleased with how this turned out.
